i had learned of an item that i wanted to buy was “on sale”

only “problem” was . that buying this item would require a car trip to the mainland

which was complicated by the fact, that my car needed its turn signal switch replaced

i hadn’t worried about this replacement driving on the country roads, here on this small island

but would not feel comfortable doing highway driving on the mainland

my original thought was no worries. get the switch replaced. then drive to the mainland

yet each time i thought to contact the mechanic to make the appointment . i got a “no”

wtf ?

i trust the mechanic, i have the $s. the mechanic even works by appointment. if he says bring your car in at 2 . it’ll take an hour. that’s what it takes. one hour from 2.

so what is the holdback.

i really wanted the item. so indeed wtf was going on.

yet i waited. almost becoming curious as to how this would work out

sure enough, after maybe 10 days, i received an email from a friend on the mainland

saying she had been wanting to buy me a thank you gift, for past kindnesses i had shown her

and she had seen this item on sale, that she knew i would want.

and she had bought it for me.
